When we moved in our current house, the kitchen appliances were
stainless. While beautiful,
stainless steel appliances leave some things to be desired. Mainly, I try to avoid being run out of
town by the endless fingerprints.
No matter how careful you are, it cannot be helped. But, I digress. The main thing NOT on the fridge is
family stuff. You know, totally
tacky, not recommended by realtors or HGTV pics, magnets and children’s
artwork. I love looking at my
goofy family pics and seeing the good grades or macaroni masterpieces adorn the
fridge.
Not gonna happen on stainless steel folks. What to do?
Additionally, we had a giant blank wall in the breakfast
nook. I didn’t have the moolah to
buy art and I’m kinda maxing out on giant prints of my kids. Hmmm…. perplexing. Honestly I can’t remember where I got
the idea but here’s what I (read: hubby) did.
Taped off 2 giant squares.
Used Chalkboard & Magnetic Paint on the left.
Used Magnetic Paint on the right.
Framed each square with molding.
Fabulous? Check. Functional? Check. Frugal? Check.
